Day four of my “12 Days of Shopping” series is upon us, and this one is good! Why? Well, it just so happens that this parka is 50% off at Nordstrom — making it under $100! And, I must say that it is probably the warmest parka I have owned. REALLY! This parka is uniquely lined and even has an attached hood on it for those extra cold days (like today). I have been wearing this coat practically everywhere since I bought it, no joke. It is a perfect deal, especially for those who want a coat out of the norm this year.
Ellen Tracy Quilted Parka
I discovered this Ellen Tracy coat on the shopping trip I went on a couple weeks ago, where I bought this. I wanted a fancy coat and a normal, every day polar vortex coat. I struck an amazing deal on both of these coats at the time (later to find out they would be marking it off even more, oh well). Again, it is pretty hard for me to find a petite coat. This coat was available in my size (I’m wearing a small petite) and beat out all the others I tried on (there were so many). I love that it is flattering to my shape, which most parkas definitely are not. The green color is something I have not really gone for in the past, but I love it. It also comes in navy blue for all the blue lovers out there (like myself).
The gold detailing makes this coat. It stands out and makes it look a bit more fancy, even though it is definitely functional. I like this feature because it brings out the quality of this coat, which makes for a good bargain. In the past, most coats would have the plastic zippers and detail, but this makes the coat extra special in my eyes.
The lining of this coat is extra warm and comfortable. I love that it is quilted, which is probably one of the reasons that it is so warm. The coat has this added insulation, which I have not seen on many coats in its price range. It even has an extra ribbed cuff so your wrists do not get cold, even if you wear a pair of gloves with it. There are even multiple, wide and deep pockets in this coat for an added measure.
Also featured in this post, my new blue cable-knit mock neck sweater from Abercrombie, which is also on sale for $40 now. I am saving this one for extra cold days because it is way warmer than I expected it to be! Not that it is an issue, I still love this sweater. The quality is very nice and it is extra soft, so I know it will be around for more seasons. I love the mock neck because I am not much of a turtleneck person, and this style gives my neck extra room to move around, haha.
And finally, these mittens and this beanie with a poof, I found 50% off the day I bought them with my cartwheel at the ever so holy, Target. They are an extra warm addition to my ultra-cozy cold weather outfit.
