Summer Fun on Steph Shakes

Where have I been?

My last post in February touched on my busy move. For the last several months I’ve been working on furnishing and decorating our new home just outside Chicago. Simultaneously, I have been working hard at my full-time job and side passion projects. And, the truth is, life really did get in the way. I’ve been focusing on life in other areas, and I am pretty unapologetic about it. We’ve all got to hustle, right?

Another truth: my blog was really focused on fashion and sometimes you have to focus on #priorities. I promise, when my apartment is ready to be featured on here, it will be. As for right now, I just need a little patience.

So, let me fill you in on my summer antics:

My apartment has a pool, which is where I’ve been spending most days working by. I am doing two people’s jobs right now, so I have little room for everything else, unfortunately. #Lifegoals, am I right? :/ I am very happy to have some nature and outdoor time to work on my summer glow. I couldn’t get that before in the city.

Soaking up the sun is another great way for me to deal with stress and anxiety, which, admittedly, is a really big problem for me. I would love to write a blog post on how I deal with it day-to-day or week-to-week. Something to think about.

Did you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary pre-sale?

A little. I only got a couple of things I needed. Otherwise, I am really focusing on saving for my future. I’ll showcase a few things here shortly, as well as my favorites. I did snag a cute dress to wear on my girls trip coming up next month. Deets to follow.

Where have you been shopping lately?

Well, since my focus is on apartment stuff. I did go a little crazy at Pier1, Ikea, Macy’s, and Crate & Barrel. I can’t wait to take pics once it all comes together.

Do you have any relationship news?

Nope. Everything is going great here with my love. A little patience is and a lot of communication is what a great relationship takes. And, believe me, you will know when we have anything to share. We are really enjoying living together and have really set a “ritual” for our days in and out. We have been going on evening walks, which are such a great way to catch-up for any couple.

What’s next?

Next up, I would love to share some deeper subjects and get into some life goals that I’d like to accomplish (like going back to school one day). So bare with me, I just need some more patience from Y’all while I work on myself.

Until next time,

SS
