The 12 Days of Shopping Day 3: The Perfect Holiday Dress

You may have seen this dress if you follow me on Instagram stories — I actually wore this dress to my brother’s wedding in October. I bought this dress with the Holidays in mind and I absolutely fell in love with the dress and shoes, so I knew it had to be featured.

This dress was literally a needle in a haystack when I found it at Nordstrom. I had searched high and low for the perfect dress. I wanted something not too short, yet a little sexy and sophisticated. I got it here. The quality of the dress is absolutely perfect and I love that it has a silky lining.

Since I am a bit of a pear shape, I had to go up in size. Normally I wear a xs-s/0-2 dress, but because the measurements were a bit different, I went with a medium. I ended up with a lot of fabric on top so I had it altered. To be completely honest, a little more could have been taken in, but otherwise, I completely loved the fit. It was comfortable to dance through the night in.

This burgundy color is also a killer color this year, and I took advantage of it. I’m pretty pail, so it pairs well with my fair skin. I was inspired by the color and the lace to wear this into the holidays and even on Valentine’s day, maybe paired with some black booties?? That’s a hint to take me somewhere nice, Aaaaandy!

I love how it leaves a little bit to the imagination on the bottom and becomes a bit of a midi dress with the lace. Not going to lie, I think Andy’s mouth dropped when he saw me in it. A classy dress for sure.

The shoes, THE SHOES. I got these babies at Bloomingdales. I hope velvet stays in fashion for a little while longer because I want more excuses to wear them. The color is absolutely perfect and sexy. The price of $120 was perfect for me too, because they look like a million bucks! They are higher than what I am used to (I never wear heels), so I was a bit scared of leaving them on all night. But, guess what?? No problem there! I danced the night away and did not even notice they were still on when the wedding was over. Now, that is how I know it is a good shoe. I think Vince Camuto shoes are my new favorite.

Paired with a nice coat — this dress is ultra classy. And under $150, the price isn’t shabby either. I went to Nordstrom for my holiday dress for a good reason! I’ll be saving this dress for years to come because it is absolutely timeless. Not many can say that about a dress they wore to a wedding. That’s what makes it simply the perfect holiday dress!
